Breakers Yard… We love delta blues and dancers shaking their booties. We like to play tunes from the jug band, ragtime, country blues, delta stomp, and cowboy traditions. We all play lots of instruments, so you never know what you’re going to get when it comes to instruments with strings, and suitcases.
Check out their new album, “Raise Some Bacon” – available at shows and on CD Baby. Breakers Yard will be playing on Friday from 8-10pm.
Alder Street is boot-stompin’, gritty, and bourbon flavored. The band draws its inspiration from a variety of sources, evinced by original tunes that break the mold of traditional bluegrass, and reprises ranging from Iron Maiden to Bill Monroe. The band first formed for a benefit show from a hodgepodge of musicians living in Eugene’s infamous Campbell Club Cooperative on Alder Street.Over the years Alder Street blossomed in Eugene’s infamous local music scene. Alder Street’s latest album, Americannibal, was relased in May 2014 at Seattle Folklife. It has been described as “a tight, polished study on the frontiers of contemporary bluegrass” – Eugene Weekly Alder Street will be playing on Saturday from 8-10pm.
Acoustic Etouffee features Kelly Thibodeaux, a fiddler from Baton Rouge, Louisiana and guitarist, Buddy Sawyer. Combining red hot fiddle, shufflin’ rhythm and blues & kickin’ southern rock, Kelly & Etouffee have created an exciting sound they call “swamp rock”. These musicians have shared a stage with artists such as Marshall Tucker Band, Curtis Salgado, Diamond Rio & many more. Their music is so “eminently danceable almost no one can resist”. Acoustic Etouffee will be playing on Friday from 5-6:15pm.
Slippery Slope String Band plays old-time music, including red hot fiddle tunes, as well as classics from the great american song book. The combined backgrounds of the musicians cover almost any genre of American music. Collectively, these musicians have played in many configurations over the years, but they feel lucky to have found a crew that shares a passion for old time fiddle tunes, traditional songs & having fun. The Slippery Slope String Band will be playing on Friday from 6:30-7:45pm.
Dumpster Joe & His Jungle Juice. Dumpster Joe performs old-time jugband music on res-o-phonic guitar while singing with a voice that hearkens back to hard-time days gone by. Don’t be surprised to hear washboards, jugs, harmonicas, kazoos, washtub bass, fiddle, musical saw, or any other old-time instrument or contraption. Whether singing about the hard times of this economy or the love of his life, Dumpster Joe’s talent and authenticity will keep you enthralled and mesmerized on how someone so young could have such a merry old soul. Dumpster Joe & His Jungle Juice will be playing on Saturday from 5-6:15pm.
