Chico Schwall Gang live at beergarden
February 2 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Folksinger, raconteur and multi-instrumentalist Chico Schwall has brought together a diverse and accomplished group of musicians who can play a full buffet of American music, old and new, genre-busting and soulful. Elizabeth Cable sings (and how!) and plays mandolin and guitar. Corwin Bolt plays bass, sings and occasionally grabs another instrument. Samuel Mitchell plays piano, 5-string banjo and mandolin. Mr. Chico plays fiddle, various guitars and sings as well. Together they play music from southern Georgia to the Pacific Northwest, from mountain music to jazz, and from ballads to blues.
Chico Schwall has spent most of his life playing one kind of traditional music or another. He teaches “everything with strings” at the Shedd Institute and curates a concert series called “Chico Schwall’s American Roots.” He believes there IS enough to go around, that history matters and that hearts can heal.
