Greg Nestler live at beergarden
May 9 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Eugene, OR, singer-songwriter, Greg Nestler, combines soulful vocals with smooth blues/R&B influenced guitar playing on his latest effort, Trouble (set for a November 2018 release). Pulling from influences like Bill Withers, Stevie Wonder, Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan, Nestler creates a sound that adeptly mixes the old soul of Motown with both classic and modern blues guitar. Produced by fellow Eugene songwriter/producer, Tyler Fortier, Trouble is Nestler’s first release since his 2014 effort, Duality (Nestler & Hawtin), which featured collaborations with Ray Parker, Jr., Freddie Washington (Steely Dan) and David K Mathews (Santana). Nestler, raised in Southeast Portland, was first introduced to the musical arts at an early age through tap dancing. It wasn’t until years later that he began exploring his love of blues guitar and appreciation of R&B/soul music. After moving to Eugene to attend the University of Oregon, Nestler began playing local venues with his songwriting duo, Nestler & Hawtin. The duo were soon playing throughout the Northwest including sizable festivals (Portland Rose Festival, Bite of Seattle, Bite of Portland, Taste of Tacoma). With Trouble set to release (11.16.18) Nestler will be playing shows throughout Oregon supporting his new album; with plans of a 2019 West Coast tour.
