Leadbetter Band was born after the final closing chapters of Jive Coulis in the early winter of 2017. In a sense it was a “re-branding” of Jive Coulis. Eric was the songwriter and frontman for Jive, and that is still the case with Leadbetter Band. His original songs played in LB are vast and diverse, from a classic rock sound to bluesy heavy jam sections featuring the Bands unique improv abilities.
The rhythm section is pro and tight featuring Patrick Pearsal on Bass and back up vocals, and Dylan Bernal on Drum set. The cover choices are also all over the map playing songs from bands like; Traffic, James Gang, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Grateful Dead, Gov’t Mule, David Bowie, Pink Floyd…the list goes on…
The band is based out of Bend, OR and plays shows around the pacific northwest entertaining and captivating music hungry listeners. Leadbetter Band delivers a stunning and engaging live performance that is not to be missed.

Paul was born in Philadelphia in 1957. His older brother Fred, who is a professional jazz drummer, motivated Paul to study and perform music at a very young age – he first picked up a saxophone at the age of 8. Paul’s teacher and mentor was Robert “Boysie” Lowery, who taught and motivated players such as Clifford Brown, Ernie Watts, and many other jazz musicians on the east coast. While Paul was still in high school, he performed in jazz bands, studio sessions, and orchestras such as Valley Forge Music Fair. He has backed up such artists as Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Mel Torme, Ella Fitzgerald, Barbra Streisand, Ray Charles, and Lena Horne. Before graduating from high school, he studied at Berklee School of Music in Boston.
After graduating, Paul toured for several years with Gladys Knight, Aretha Franklin, and Ike and Tina Turner. He then joined a yearlong world tour with Smokey Robinson. His musical education, and career didn’t end there. In 1978, Paul and The Duck Soup Band from Philadelphia were offered a recording contract with Warner Brothers Records. He worked on the album in San Francisco for one year, and then moved to Los Angeles where he worked as a studio musician. He also wrote and played on movie scores and television theme songs, and performed with many famous individual artists, including Jimmy Smith, Bill Medley of The Righteous Brothers, Jack Sheldon, Tex Beneke, Horace Height Jr., The Temptations, the Four Tops, The Drifters, The Platters, The Cadillacs, The Shirelles, and numerous other groups and artists. more
Having a sound unlike any other, the Elena Leona Project is a charming, live, urban groove act. Some would say…” it’s difficult to place your sound into just one genre.”
Fusing together elements of Latin and Jazz, influenced
Ranging from Tina Turner or Lauryn Hill to Bill Withers or even Ice Cube to Etta James. Having great energy, family friendly lyrics and fresh new soulful originals you can dance to. Always making sure to bring that “feel good” vibe.
The music he creates is americana freefall folk…X-factor swagger. He travels solo with a kick drum and guitar, or with an accompanist if the timing is right.
All about habits. As of January 2019, a new music video is out.
The songs regard a variety of Life-in-the-USA things, some of import, most with an emphasis on lively and fun. For those happy enough to hear it. The studio sessions are layered, creative, and compellingly self-produced. The live performance, especially solo, is the charm.
In addition to past collaborations with cool bands, there are four solo albums:
Searchlights In Mexico (2008) ;
Light Up The Sky (2014) ;
Yeehawk, a Lane county based band. Yeehawk is a 4 piece band whose sound can be described as guitar driven hard country mountain twang. We’re excited to have them to beergarden for their first time.
Singer-songwriter Lea Jones has performed solo all over the country, including at the Kennedy Center, at Bumbershoot, and at the Eugene Celebration. He was composer and bass voice in the (1980’s) Rainbow Optics radio jingles. According to Jivin’ Johnny Etheredge, renowned Son of Saturday Gold radio personality, Jones is “one of Oregon’s finest musicians.” Jones was a national Mountain Stage New Song finalist in 2004. He has recorded multiple albums of original music.
Guitar phenom Keenan Dorn has been playing music from his earliest days. His virtuosity on guitar earned him a scholarship into the U of O’s School of Music coming out of high school in 2013. His influences include myriad jazz guitarists, and he leans heavily into Americana/Dead/Phish stylings in performance.
Together they make up BUFFALO ROMEO, spanning three generations, performing classic and original Americana with two guitars and voices.
Tug and the Heart Strings is a 4 piece acoustic group that was born at the Oregon Country Fair in 2015. Expect to hear anything from gypsy jazz to traditional famenco in their repertoire. The 3 guitarists all have solo performance backgrounds, enabling the group to explore and showcase their unique styles throughout a performance with the help of their versatile percussionist.
This quartet draws from traditional music from all over the world, alongside a growing number of original compositions. Their many hours of material can be re-imagined in a number of ways, including duo and trio shows as well as large productions with specials guests.
We are excited to have them at beergarden for their first time!
