MUSE, Volume 2: A Celebration of Women at beergarden & PublicHouse

  • beergarden. 777 W. 6th Avenue Eugene United States (map)

What does it mean to be called a ‘Muse”?
As a noun, it means a person — especially a woman — who is a source of artistic inspiration. It seems like the perfect word to encompass our 2nd Annual Celebration of Women.

March 8 has been recognized as International Women’s Day since the early 1900’s. International Women's Day celebrates women's achievements in the workplace, and we’ve teamed up with PublicHouse to amplify and acknowledge the inspirational women in our lives, behind our pubs, creating our beer & spirits, feeding us and performing on our stage.

Live Musical Performances & Events: Prior to 1900 and even after, it was expected that "women would perform music, not make music.” Singing was something of an acceptable pastime for a girl, but playing an instrument….?! Writing songs? Producing records? It wasn’t a thing and, for the most part, women didn’t think of themselves as creators of music. So much has changed. So much will continue to change. Both pubs will be showcasing women-led performances and events throughout the five days, including:
